Emerging Style on the Runway: KP Collective Brings Independent Fashion to Moorooka

A dynamic mother-and-daughter team is set to shake up Brisbane’s independent fashion scene next month, uniting 17 Australian designers for an ambitious, dual-showcase runway event in Moorooka.

Founded by Kristen and Paris Ravest, KP Collective Runways was born directly out of their shared years inside the modelling and fashion industries. Having navigated the industry from a model’s perspective, the duo set out to connect independent creators with a high-calibre presentation platform: a professional, community-focused runway where emerging talent and models can collaborate and showcase their work. Their focus, Kristen says, is a younger audience.

On Friday, 16 October 2026, that vision takes centre stage at Arcana Brisbane, transforming the Empress Room into a vibrant, multi-state fashion hub. The night runs from 7:00pm to 10:30pm, so come early: the bar and kitchen will be open for a drink and a bite.

A Multi-State Gathering of Independent Labels

While anchored in Brisbane, the October event draws labels from far beyond south-east Queensland, featuring designers from Cairns, South Australia, and Western Australia—a slice of the country folded into a single Moorooka room.

The evening will feature two curated runway showcases alongside an interactive retail precinct:

• Showcase One: Men’s & Women’s Clothing
  The night opens on the runway with men’s and women’s clothing, setting the pace for everything that follows.
• Showcase Two: Sleepwear & Lingerie
  The second half transitions toward refined intimacy and playful silhouettes, with sleepwear and lingerie that the organisers describe as having a classy and cute edge. The showcase opens with Cuddle Couture—sleepwear that can step straight out of the bedroom and double as outerwear—and closes the show in silk, with menswear and womenswear sleepwear.
• The Pop-Up Marketplace
  Complementing the catwalk, guests will have direct access to a bustling floor of pop-up stores from Australian beauty, accessory and clothing brands—including @smelan_clothing, @azureandsol and @curatedpibu—so the night’s discoveries can go home with you. Event sponsor Enough Gin is supporting the evening.

The images below are anything but shy: feather wings in electric blue and black, oxblood satin, hot-pink sequins, leopard print on a pink shag rug, and fur in cream, chocolate and silver.

Amy Designs, Embellished, Pitched Mystery, The Vow and Jemmr are among the labels on the bill, alongside Élara, whose fur jackets star in the shots below.
