Gravel & Wine began with a trip. Before recording it, Wigmore spent two months in Mississippi and Alabama, chasing a Southern sound. She made the album in Santa Monica in 2011 with producer Butch Walker. It debuted at number one in New Zealand, and Universal says it went 2× Platinum and has passed 500 million streams worldwide. In Australia it debuted at number 29 on the ARIA albums chart.
It is also home to 'Kill Of The Night', which Universal calls a perennial Halloween favourite, more than a decade after she released it.
The songs travelled. Wigmore performed 'Man Like That' in a Heineken commercial tied to the Bond film Skyfall, which also featured Daniel Craig. Universal says her music has been placed in Grey's Anatomy, Orange Is The New Black and Teen Wolf.
Holy Smoke is where it all started. The 2009 debut also reached number one in New Zealand, and Universal says it went 4× Platinum. It gave her 'Oh My', 'Hey Ho' and 'I Do'. After slipping down the chart, it returned to number one in New Zealand in February 2010.

Wigmore has won six New Zealand Music Awards, according to Universal. Her fourth studio album, Beautiful Mess, is out now, and we covered it in July: Eight Years in the Making — Gin Wigmore Returns with Beautiful Mess.
