Riverfront Revelry: W Brisbane Unveils Its 2026 Festive Dining Season

W Brisbane at 81 North Quay is gearing up for the end-of-year season with a festive program spanning seasonal high tea in the Living Room Bar to multi-course holiday dining overlooking the river at The Lex.

From an afternoon spread inspired by one of Brisbane’s hallmark stage traditions to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day banquets, here is what the riverside hotel has scheduled for the coming holidays.

Sugarplum Reverie: Festive High Tea at Living Room Bar

Drawing thematic inspiration from Queensland Ballet’s The Nutcracker—which stages at QPAC’s Glasshouse Theatre from 9 to 19 December—Living Room Bar transforms into a sweet-laden tribute to the classic tale.

The menu highlights playful sweet and savoury items direct from the W Brisbane pastry kitchen, accompanied by endless tea, coffee, juice, and babycinos. Alongside the tier service, guests will have access to a dedicated gingerbread atelier to decorate a festive creation to take home, as well as an optional interactive table game devised by the pastry team.

• Dates: 19 November to 27 December 2026 (excluding 25 and 26 December)
• Times: Thursdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm; Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm (two-hour seatings)

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Dinner at The Lex

Overlooking the river as the skyline illuminates, The Lex is offering an evening four-course tasting menu on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Night, with a resident vinyl DJ providing the soundtrack.

The kitchen’s holiday spread centres on premium Australian provenance, opening with a choice between Moreton Bay Bug tacos or caramelised figs, leading into a Warwick MB3+ eye fillet, and concluding with a summer berry pavlova.

• Pricing: $169 per person for teens and adults (four courses); $60 per child aged 4 to 12 (three courses, including bottomless soft drink and juice); infants aged 0 to 3 are complimentary. Beverages are billed separately, and a 15% public holiday surcharge applies.

Christmas Day Lunch at The Lex

For the midday celebration on 25 December, The Lex hosts a riverside lunch accompanied by live jazz and an appearance by a special surprise guest. Younger guests and families will have an opportunity to meet the guest and take home a commemorative keepsake.

The multi-course menu begins with Moreton Bay Bug tacos and beef carpaccio before guests select a main of either traditional Christmas turkey or Tajima Wagyu Striploin MB6+, served alongside bone marrow roast potatoes. The dining experience is paired with selections from Margaret River estate Vasse Felix.
