Tinashe releases "Pillow Fight" and "I'd Rather Be Alone" ahead of her new album Popstar, out 25 September, and is confirmed for two dates on Harry Styles' 2027 stadium tour.
New from Tinashe: a pair of tracks called "Pillow Fight" and "I'd Rather Be Alone," the newest preview of her eighth studio album Popstar, due out 25 September. Where much of her recent run has leaned into dance and electronic territory, both new tracks pull back toward her R&B roots — "Pillow Fight" is flirtatious and playful, while "I'd Rather Be Alone" is a rawer breakup ballad. A video for "Pillow Fight," directed by Zac Wiesel (Megan Thee Stallion, Audrey Nuna), landed alongside the songs.
The release comes with a genuinely big support slot attached: Tinashe has been confirmed on Harry Styles' Together, Together tour, joining him for two shows at Phoenix's State Farm Stadium on 2 and 3 April 2027.

It follows a run of outsized success for Tinashe over the past two years. "No Broke Boys," her collaboration with Disco Lines, is now 6× Platinum in Australia and 3× Platinum in New Zealand, hit number one on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, picked up a BRIT Award nomination for International Song of the Year and an American Music Award nomination for Social Song of the Year, and won Dance Song of the Year at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Her other 2024 hit, "Nasty," has been streamed more than 500 million times since it kicked off a viral dance trend and was widely tagged as one of that year's songs of the summer.
Popstar's three earlier singles — "Melatonin," "Crash Out" and "Too Easy" — have all picked up notice of their own: Rolling Stone included all three in its Songs You Need to Know column, Billboard called "Too Easy" a "clubby pop track…coated in confidence," and Stereogum described "Melatonin" as an "all-out dancefloor blitz."
Tinashe will also play three headline shows this US autumn in Chicago, Brooklyn and Los Angeles — the first time she'll perform Popstar live. The pre-sale for those shows moved faster than any she's had before, selling out almost instantly, and general tickets didn't last much longer.
The new album is Tinashe's eighth, following her 2014 debut Aquarius (a top-20 debut on the Billboard 200) through to 2024's Quantum Baby. Across that run she's built a cross-genre fanbase of more than 13 million social media followers and racked up over 5.5 billion streams worldwide.
