Role Model Drops Third Album 'Chuck Timely & The Hourglass'

Role Model — the project of Tucker Pillsbury — has released his third studio album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, via Interscope Records.

The 12-track album was written and produced by Pillsbury alongside Mason Stoops and Taylor Mackall, and explores the ups and downs of being single through themes of time and love. It blends genres while leaning into the honest, folk-tinged lyricism that has become Role Model's signature, marking a clear evolution in his artistry.

The album was ushered in by two singles: "High Hopes 3000," which marked Pillsbury's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Joy," accompanied by a music video featuring actor Aidan Delbis. Focus track "Harmony" gets its moment tonight, with Role Model performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Chuck Timely & The Hourglass follows 2024's Kansas Anymore, a folk-inspired, 13-track record that cemented Pillsbury as a songwriter to watch. Its standout, "Sally, When The Wine Runs Out," has racked up close to 320 million streams and earned him a Saturday Night Live performance alongside surprise guest Charli XCX, followed by "Some Protector." A deluxe edition, Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye), later added four extra tracks. The album's success followed his sold-out No Place Like Tour, which moved more than 90,000 tickets worldwide, and a stint as special guest on Gracie Abrams' The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour.

Beyond music, Pillsbury is stepping into film with his acting debut in Good Sex, the upcoming Netflix feature from acclaimed writer-director Lena Dunham, starring alongside Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo.

A special hometown show, "CHUCK COMES HOME," takes place at Thompson's Point in Portland, Maine this Friday, livestreamed on Twitch. A full North American tour kicks off September 9 in Bend, Oregon, taking in New York, Nashville and Los Angeles before wrapping in Berkeley on October 18. A European leg follows from February 2027, opening in Berlin.
