Brisbane bubbleologist Carissa White has performed at more than 1,300 bubble events. On Sunday 8 November she launches her first children's picture book, with giant bubbles, storytelling and a real bubble bicycle.
Carissa White has performed at more than 1,300 bubble events. On Sunday she launches something different: a children's picture book, and a free party in Moorooka with a real bubble bicycle on show.
White is better known as Miss Bubbles, a Brisbane bubbleologist, performer and, now, author and illustrator. Her debut, Miss Bubbles' Bicycle Adventure, is written for children aged 4 to 6. In the story, Miss Bubbles and Mr Lollipop set off on a bicycle ride past bubbles, rainbows and curious characters. It is published by Little Steps Publishing.

Bicycles are a real passion, not just a theme. Away from performing, White is a keen bikepacker who has travelled through 14 countries on two wheels, from Alaska to Patagonia and across the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. That love of travel runs through the book.
She also trained as an artist. "Having studied visual arts at university, writing and illustrating my own children's book was a really exciting opportunity to bring together my artistic background with the character and world I've developed through years of performing," says White.
Families are invited to the free launch on Sunday 8 November, at The Clubhouse in Moorooka. There will be giant bubbles, storytelling, bike riding and crafts, and children can say hello to Miss Bubbles and Mr Lollipop and see the bubble bicycle from the book.
Miss Bubbles' Bicycle Adventure is $27.50 in hardcover and $17.50 in paperback, through the Miss Bubbles website. Books are posted from Brisbane, with Australia-wide postage, and orders placed directly come with bonus goodies.
