Brisbane's Fortitude Valley is about to get a new destination for anyone who takes their recovery seriously. Lan Bathhouse, the premium bathing and spa brand that opened its first location in Surfers Paradise last year, has confirmed its second venue will launch on Saturday 29 August.

The Fortitude Valley site will offer the core Lan Bathhouse experience — traditional spa baths, custom saunas and a range of wellness treatments — but it's also bringing something Brisbane won't find anywhere else.

The Jade Sanctuary

The standout addition is The Jade Sanctuary, a private infrared suite that the brand is treating as its headline feature for the Brisbane launch. It's a deliberately different proposition to a standard sauna: instead of relying on high air temperature, the room uses radiant infrared technology to deliver a gentler, more sustained warmth designed to support circulation and ease muscle tension. The space is lined with genuine jade stone — chosen for its natural heat retention and tactile quality — and integrated with Himalayan salt crystals to add a calming sensory element.

The overall effect sits closer to a private wellness retreat than a communal bathhouse, which is clearly the intention. The venue's design leans into a muted, upmarket coastal palette — soft sand tones with gold accents — creating the kind of environment that feels deliberately removed from the surrounding Valley precinct. It's a calculated contrast: step off one of Brisbane's busiest entertainment strips and into something designed to feel like an entirely different pace.

From Surfers Paradise to the Valley

Lan Bathhouse positions itself at the premium end of the market, targeting health-conscious professionals and clients who are willing to pay for a higher tier of self-care. It's a play that aligns neatly with Fortitude Valley's gradual shift toward upscale lifestyle offerings over the past few years.
