KATSEYE's "Animal" has debuted at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, their first-ever chart-topper, as the group's third EP Wild builds momentum with a documentary, a sold-out arena tour and a run of major press.
KATSEYE have scored their first-ever number one on the ARIA Singles Chart, with "Animal" debuting at the top spot this week — a milestone that also extends Australia's run of female acts holding the ARIA Singles Chart summit into a second consecutive year.
The achievement caps a genuine Australian love affair with the group. Earlier this year, KATSEYE took part in an exclusive fan Q&A at Luna Park Sydney and a pop-up performance at Melbourne's Festival Hall, backed by what their label called a "total media takeover." Local certifications have followed accordingly: "Gabriela" at double Platinum, "Touch," "Gnarly" and "Debut" at Platinum, and "Gameboy," "M.I.A" and "Pinky Up" at Gold.
"Animal" — the Ed Sheeran co-write that arrived with a Demi Moore cameo in its video, as we covered when the single first dropped — is one of two Billboard Hot 100 hits (alongside "PINKY UP") anchoring WILD, KATSEYE's third EP, which has since had its full release on August 14 via HYBE x Geffen Records. The five-track project follows 2025's GRAMMY-nominated BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, and rounds out with "Hootie Frutti" (Brazilian phonk-inspired production, its video directed by Alfred Marroquin), the ballad "Bel Air," and closing track "That Way." Target and international retailer editions add a bonus track, "Unloveu," co-written and produced by group member Lara Raj.

The EP's rollout has come with real momentum. A companion documentary, KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, premiered at The Grove in Los Angeles on August 4 and is now playing a limited theatrical run across roughly 1,700 cinemas in more than 60 countries, with extra sessions being added on demand. The group has also performed "Animal" on NBC's Today as part of the Citi Concert Series, returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for their first-ever musical performance on a late-night program, and were the subject of Vanity Fair's "Vanities" feature for July — the first time the long-running feature has profiled a group rather than an individual. They've also appeared on the June covers of Allure in the US, Korea and the Philippines, and lead Billboard's 2026 "21 Under 21" list.
Touring follows next: KATSEYE launches THE WILDWORLD ARENA TOUR on September 1 at Dublin's 3Arena, a run that sold out in under 48 hours and includes two-night stands at London's The O2, UBS Arena in New York, Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes.
With a first ARIA number one now behind them, Australia looks set to remain one of KATSEYE's strongest markets heading into the next chapter of WILD.
