Brisbane's inner-city voice since 2014

Every night on his sold-out run through Europe, Jude York asked fans to write him a secret love letter. He says the confessions that came back, sparked by his new single, are some of the most vulnerable he has read.
On Thursday the Toowoomba-born singer plays his headline Brisbane show at Melt, in the Powerhouse Theatre.
The single is called "Afternote", and the title names the thing he fears becoming. York says the song started as a love letter of his own, written out of the worry that someone could move on without him and reduce him to "a story they tell their friends". An afternote, in other words, in someone else's story.

He answered that fear with a whimsical, disco-leaning pop song, co-written with Swedish songwriters Nicki Adamsson (Tove Lo, NCT 127) and Litens (Icona Pop, John Newman). It sits alongside a run of theatrical singles with names like "Camilla", "Monaco" and "Cashew".
York's stagecraft began at home. His mother is an opera singer, and he first performed beside her in Toowoomba, before moving from small jazz bars to festival stages. Videos of the two singing together went viral, and led to a performance of ABBA's "Slipping Through My Fingers" at the 2025 TikTok Awards Australia and a Video of the Year nomination. In 2022 he competed in Eurovision Australia Decides.
Since then, his label says, he has passed 80 million streams worldwide. His Once Upon A Tour sold out from Hamburg to Glasgow, and he recently spent a few days in a songwriting session with Meghan Trainor in America.
Brisbane will see him again in February, when he supports Niall Horan at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Friday 19 February 2027, the final Australian stop of the Dinner Party Live On Tour.
