Brisbane's inner-city voice since 2014
Jhené Aiko's fourth studio album is a 20-track tribute to Los Angeles, featuring Kendrick Lamar, Larry June, Ab-Soul, Tyga and OHMA.
Seven-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko has officially unveiled her latest studio album, Westside Whimsy, released via ALLEL/Artclub/Def Jam Recordings. The expansive 20-track record marks a reflective new chapter for the multi-platinum artist, positioning personal healing against the backdrop of her hometown.
Conceived as a direct love letter to Los Angeles, the project pulls together a tight-knit roster of collaborators steeped in the city's creative scene. Long-time associate Kendrick Lamar features on "So Good," alongside appearances from Ab-Soul ("Love Bomb"), Tyga ("Like, Whatever"), Larry June ("Neighbors"), and alternative duo OHMA ("Golden Coast"). Rather than treating guest spots as commercial flourishes, each feature adds distinct texture to the album's examination of West Coast culture and contemporary soul.

Aiko's signature sonic hallmarks remain at the forefront. The production pairs atmospheric, floating arrangements with candid, diary-entry lyricism, leaning heavily into themes of romance, emotional recovery, and vulnerability. Following landmark releases like Souled Out, Trip, and 2020's critically lauded Chilombo, Westside Whimsy reinforces her distinct voice within modern contemporary R&B.
The release also aligns with Aiko's ongoing focus on holistic creative ventures, echoing the wellness-first ethos of her beauty label, Jhenetics. Across its run time, Westside Whimsy operates not just as an album, but as an intentional meditation on place, growth, and community.
Westside Whimsy is available now on all major streaming platforms.
