Brisbane Finally Gets Its Own Central Perk

The FRIENDS™ Experience is open on Queen Street Mall — and thirty years on, it turns out the world still isn’t done with this show.

The FRIENDS™ Experience is open on Queen Street Mall—and thirty years on, it turns out the world still isn’t done with this show.

Thirty years on, FRIENDS still has a grip on us – and The FRIENDS™ Experience: The One in Brisbane is leaning into that hard. The show ran for ten seasons, won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, and is still streaming globally on Max. That it can fill a venue in 2026 says everything about the kind of cultural staying power most shows never come close to.

Open since April at Level Q, Uptown on Queen Street Mall, the immersive walk-through attraction recreates the show’s most beloved sets with an almost unsettling level of detail. We visited last month, and the energy hits you immediately — friendly staff, a genuinely buzzing atmosphere, and fellow visitors who are absolutely there for it. The fandom in the room is part of the experience.

The sets themselves are extraordinary. Monica’s kitchen. The purple door. Joey and Chandler’s apartment, Foosball table intact. The hallway outside the two apartments is where one of the best photo moments lives — heads poking through the door for that group shot you’ve already planned before you even get there. And then Central Perk. Orange sofa, fountain, the lot. Standing inside it feels genuinely surreal. It’s not a theme park ride. It’s a very good memory, made physical.

One moment stood out: the couch jammed into the stairwell. Ross’s “pivot” scene, rendered in three dimensions. It’s a small thing, but it landed — and we weren’t the only ones laughing.

Brisbane is the first Queensland stop for a global tour that has already played in over 30 locations worldwide. Dates have been extended due to demand, so booking ahead is the move.

Tickets from $26. All ages. Wheelchair accessible. Approx. 60–90 minutes.
