Diner en Blanc Returns to Brisbane for a Secret, All-White Affair in November

Brisbane's best-kept secret is back. Diner en Blanc — the global pop-up dinner where guests dress head-to-toe in white and gather at a location revealed only hours before — returns to the city on Saturday 7 November, following a well-received debut return last year.

This year's edition takes its cue from Une Soirée Parisienne – La Belle Époque, channelling the elegance of Paris's golden era of artistry and refinement. The brief stays true to form: an elevated all-white ensemble, a fully white table setting, and a location kept under wraps until guests are escorted there by volunteers on the night.

"As adults, we rarely get to feel true, genuine surprise," says co-host Kathleen Crawford. "Diner en Blanc brings that magic back in a way that is elegant, sophisticated, and deeply joyful."

Guests bring their own table, chairs and a gourmet picnic basket — or opt for a catered basket through Cuisine on Cue — with wine and champagne available to pre-order from O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyards ahead of time (Queensland liquor laws mean BYO alcohol isn't permitted). True to the event's ethos, everyone leaves the site exactly as they found it.

First held in Paris in 1988, Diner en Blanc has since grown into a global phenomenon spanning more than 120 cities across 40 countries. Brisbane's edition is hosted by Brendan Carlson and Kathleen Crawford, both longtime attendees and volunteers of the Brisbane and Gold Coast events.
