Charlie Jeer's New Cat Burns Collab Lands Right Before His First Brisbane Show

UK saxophonist and pop artist Charlie Jeer has just dropped "Small Talk," a collaboration with three-time BRIT-nominated singer-songwriter Cat Burns — and in a few weeks, he'll be playing it live in Brisbane for the first time.

The collaboration came together almost by accident: Burns left a comment under one of Jeer's TikTok videos, and the two were in the studio together not long after. "Small Talk" is the first taste of Jeer's upcoming EP, Take Away My Problems, built around his usual mix of saxophone-led disco-pop and warm, live instrumentation, with Burns taking the second verse.

At 23, Jeer has an unconventional résumé for someone with 150 million-plus streams behind him — a classically trained saxophone prodigy who studied economics, modelled and boxed before committing to music full time. His music has soundtracked the BBC's FIFA World Cup coverage and earned airtime on Elton John's Rocket Hour.

He's proven himself live, too. Jeer recently supported Becky Hill in front of 10,000 people on the Canterbury leg of her tour, then joined Ella Eyre on stage the same night for a guest turn on her track "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off."

He'll bring that same energy to Brisbane on 8 November at The Brightside, the final stop on his first-ever Australian headline run alongside dates in Melbourne and Sydney — a rare chance to catch an artist mid-breakout before the rooms get bigger.
