Cassandra Mamone Brings Her Bespoke Trunk Show to The Calile Hotel

Adelaide-based fine jewellery designer Cassandra Mamone is bringing her bespoke trunk show to Brisbane, hosting private, by-appointment-only consultations at The Calile Hotel, 48 James St, Fortitude Valley, on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 August.

The format gives Brisbane locals a rare chance to sit down with Mamone herself to discuss a bespoke engagement ring, wedding band, or the remodelling of an existing or heirloom piece. Two appointment types are on offer — a full consultation with Mamone, or a shorter viewing for those who'd simply like to browse the collection in person — and with appointments strictly limited, early booking is recommended.

Mamone's path into fine jewellery began at 16, making beaded pieces for friends and family, before she completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Applied Design at the Adelaide Centre for the Arts and set up her first jeweller's bench in her parents' garage. She launched her debut collection, SORRENTO, in 2013 — inspired by Italy's Amalfi Coast, and credited with popularising the now-widespread pairing of champagne diamonds and rose gold. Her studio has since relocated to Hutt Street in Adelaide's city centre, operating by appointment only, much like the Brisbane pop-up itself.

Two decades on, her pieces have been worn by public figures including Carrie Bickmore and Isabel Lucas, and featured in Vogue and the Australian Business Journal. She's shot international campaigns in Kefalonia, Greece, and Lisbon, Portugal, was a finalist in the Jewellery Design Awards' Australian Opal category, and trained through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) — working exclusively in natural, GIA-certified diamonds. A quiet signature runs through select engagement rings: her own birthstone, a ruby, hand-set inside the band.

Heirloom remodelling remains central to her practice — reworking inherited stones and metal into a new piece without losing what made the original meaningful — alongside bespoke engagement rings built from scratch around a client's own vision.
